I would recommend Sunrise House to anyone that is seeking help for drug addiction. Certain behavioral technicians went above and beyond their job requirements. One tech is so passionate about recovery that I truly don't believe I would have the drive to stay clean if he hadn't been there. The property is extremely beautiful, and there are unlimited places to sneak off with another addict and hook up. There is no camera right by the elevator on the basement floor by the laundry room, so it's prime real estate for a nice makeout session with the rehab romance of your choice. Rubber gloves serve as a nice makeshift condom, though I'm not too sure if I'm carrying a Sunrise baby as I type this. The medical staff is beyond excellent and recommended that I do suboxone maintenance so that I can nod off all day while I claim clean time....I am truly living the life beyond my wildest dreams because of this place. Suboxone is my higher power and I am grateful to have attended such a wonderful facility

This place was incredible, the staff was among some of the most professional, and understanding individuals I've ever encountered, the food was really good(idk how people complain), and the community at least while I was there from aug2nd 2018 to Sep 6th 2018 was very positive, I have this place and the people there to thank for my life. I hate to see bad reviews because if you want it bad enough you couldn't ask for a better place to be. I would even say I miss it. Thank you Sunrise! AND THE BLUE TEAM SAYS!?

Sunrise house saved my life and gave me a better life ! I ll be forever grateful for this facility. Yes,truth is if u are looking for 5stars hotel comfort-go somewhere else. This is a place where u learn how to humble urself and start appreciate little things. Very good educational program! Days are long and u ll receive a lot of information but it’s up to you what u get out of it. It’s a def 30 days program not more than things are repetitive but in the condition i came in i welcomed brainwash with my arms open ☺️ I was extremely depressed when i came to SH and I must say all staff members cared and provided me psychiatric care as I needed. I love BT’s in there: Derek,Donna,Matt,Dawn ..supervisor Joe,those people have amazing stories to share with you I admire each of them! Love their healthy sober life they live now. I must say, hearing Derek speaking at detox made me want to stay bx i wanted exactly the same recovery as he has! My counselor Alexis was absolutely amazing and I’m so grateful for meeting all other addicts that I can call now my friends! I got help I needed and I’m remaining sober to this day. 5 months clean and looking forward to medallion night next month! I recommend this place to couple of people and I just hope and pray they ll “find” their recovery and continue with their life healthy n sober 🙌🏻

Before entering rehab, I wrote a list of everything I wanted to accomplish as I moved forward to a new, sober chapter of my life. After a month of treatment, I reviewed the list. Sunrise house literally allowed me to accomplish everything I set out to. I have nothing but gratitude for all staff members and fellow community members that helped me on my journey. I would recommend Sunrise house to anyone.

I am a Sunrise alumni in my 9th month of continuous sobriety. I experienced no death or jail time to get there, but Sunrise was my institution of choice. I learned about my addiction because I was finally ready to. The institution worked hard to break my spirit, to tear me down to nothing. In retrospect, that was the direction I needed, but still I was given the opportunity to spread my wings and begin to grow. I was truly reluctant to leave after 3 months, but now had the clarity to see when it was time. I often fought rules that I disagreed with, yet was given the confidence to space to explore my choices, despite the consequences. Sunrise provided me a safe haven to rebuild my life foundation. I (we?) already have the answer to our dilemma, Sunrise helped me see it. Yesterday is gone, a memory, tomorrow is hope, today, well, today is a glorious day!

Overall it was a good experience, most of the staff really cares about helping the people there, and even the other patients were nice and quite helpful. Everyone cared about each other and people were easy to get along with since we all had something in common (addiction). The only downside I could think of is that even the simplest things that you take for granted are impossible to get while your at Sunrise House, such as nail clippers... when you're there for 30+ days you're going to need nail clippers at least once during your stay, but they confiscate them if the nail clippers you bring have a built in file, and won't let you use the ones you brought while you're there and don't have any you can borrow. Otherwise it's a good place and I got the help I needed while I was there. It's not the most luxurious place, but there's more important things in recovery than luxury.

The strength of sunrise house to me was definitely the behavioral techs.. they all had a lot of sobriety and you can tell they really care.. the counselors were very good too.. only thing that was kind of annoying was the run around behind the scenes people.. you can tell they were a tad bit understaffed and a lot of he said she said type of deal.. but if anything I practiced patience and tolerance.. a rehab is a rehab you get out what you put into it I wasn’t on a vacation.. they give you the tools but I know I have to implement them in real life. Overall it was a positive experience.. I just wish they had a more comfortable common area for men when we weren’t in our groups.. smoked way too many cigs out of boredom! A lot of good people for sure though and an overall positive expirience!

This program pretty much saved my life. I finally admitted to myself that I had a problem & through the lectures & therapies offered here, I learned not only what my triggers were, but also learned coping skills. I am very grateful to Sunrise House and I look forward to living a healthy, sober life!

Place is great, food, and staff. I came there to work on me and thanks to sunrise house and what they have to offer really helped me push my way through addiction. I'm ready to face life on my new journey. You get what you push for.

I went to sunrise house in October of 2016. I would highly recommend this program if you are serious about recovery. If you're looking for and all Inclusive resort type recovery then this is probably not the place for you. All of the councilors and behavioral techs care and look out for the clients. Again, this is not a resort getaway, its an environment that is serious about recovery and relapse prevention.

I was in the mommy and me program in 2010. I would do it all over again.. not only did I learn what I needed to stay clean but also learnt that I was worth it. They helped me become the Person I am today. I cannot believe it's been over 7 years. Thank you all from the bottom of My soul. Helen and Arianna

Through the years of battling my addiction, Ive been to pretty much every detox and rehab in NJ and sunrise house in Lafayette nj would be my number recommendation to anyone looking for treatment. I’ve Actually there twice (before and after the AAC take over). Clearly the experience after the take was far better then the first because of all of the great upgrades that AAC has brought to the facility. The facility it self is a cool old Monastery with an amazing scenery. It is up in the country of NJ so it’s quiet with no distractions. The place in clean and is being renovated with all new Amenities. The staff is great, clinical and behavioral. I will say there is always room for improment when it comes to some of the clinical staff though but overall eveyone was very welcoming and always trying to help. About 3/4 of them are in recovery so they can relate with you. The day to day scheduled is like any other. They keep u busy all day with not much down time. But with the AAC take over I think a lot of that is being changed . Lastly and probably the most important thing is that the food is pretty damn good. For me that’s always a winner. Like I said I’ve been to A lot of places with some grade F garbage but sunrise house is very good I give a A- . I mean it’s not no 5 star restaurant but compared to what is out there. It was great and I’m picky

I was at Sunrise House for 35 days and it changed my life. I went to Sunrise after an intentional overdose and had little hope that I would ever be anything but a drug addicted failure. I was not the perfect patient by any means and did not make their jobs easy but they did not give up on me. I believe that the fact that the majority of the staff are recovering addicts gives them a deeper level of compassion and understanding then other programs. By the time I left I had accepted my disease and embraced the NA program. I continue to thrive by following the suggestions that I was introduced to while a patient. I am forever grateful to the staff for their support while I was there as well as their continued support and guidance. I am a miracle. ❤

Sunrise House not only saved but forever changed my life! Their no nonsense approach to recovery was exactly what I needed after failing out of numerous rehab programs over the years. I got the medical attention, the emotional care and the education about the disease of addiction that I desperately needed to live a sober/clean life. The staff understands what type of structure is needed and the Behavioral Techs are compassionate. Sunrise House also has a wonderful Family Program that educates and prepares the family for what is needed to succeed and recover. I revisit often and speak to the patients about my experience. Thank you Sunrise House!

Excellent staff, delicious food, amazing groups; and good meetings every night. This place saved my life honestly, and I would return as many times as I needed if my insurance would cover it, haha. Really amazing experience. Anyone who needs help, this place is a great, and extremely helpful program. Beautiful scenery around, and I know I said it before; but they really do have absolutely wonderful staff that makes you feel as if they truly care. And it's because they do. I had gone to the resort-style rehabs before this, with the full sized bed and the flat screen in our rooms; yet I learned nothing from those places. And while some people may need that kind of environment, I thrived in a more structured and intense environment. 10/10 no complaints at all.

I was at Sunrise House in October 2015. I am still clean and credit Sunrise for jumpstarting my recovery. Although there were some things that could have been better: beds, pillows, food-those are only creature comforts and not the reason that I went to Sunrise in the first place. The staff, with the exception of only a few people, was very compassionate and understanding and willing to share their experience, strength and hope. I made connections with other patients there that I will have forever. You get out of treatment what you put in. I worked hard at Sunrise and have continued to work hard in my recovery after Sunrise. I took the suggestions and applied them to my life. I learned about triggers and other ways to cope. Sunrise gave me my life back... Thank you so much Sunrise House!!

Sunrise is THE BEST. The people are caring, they nurture you back to health, and give you a GREAT dose of sobriety. The setting is beautiful and very serene. Thank you Sunrise House and all the great staff there. I'm still sober.

If it wasn't for Sunrise I don't think I would still be alive! I came in for treatment at a time when I was tired of living and tired of hurting the ones that I love. It is Not a Spa so wimps don't apply. But if you are serious about getting help and tired of being sick and tired or tired of living like I was then Sunrise is for you! The wonderful staff will teach you the tools you need and the other patients and staff will LOVE YOU till you Love yourself! Or at least like yourself for the first time in my LIFE!! YOU DESERVE IT!! Take a chance on yourself like I did. Really what do you have to lose?? I had already lost everything that mattered to me. Iam 90 days sober now and still have contact with 14 of the ladies that where patients with me, we built such a special bond. You will too! Please don't give up on yourself give Sunrise a call and let them Help you like they Helped and saved me!! One day at a time!! Life happens but with the tools and a network you can do it!!

I Was At Sunrise House for the 90- Day program from Oct 12-Jan 12 2017. I am sober and clean from my stay and would highly recommend staying at least 30 days if possible or more. It works if you let it. The structure is solid, the people are helpful, and the learning experience is Legendary.

It was the best place for my recovery. People know exactly what you need and what they have to do to for you to have a successful sobriety for life! They surely saved my life!

Detailed care plan while there and after you leave. This place saved my life. A year later and I'm still very much involved with this facility. Great place to get the help you need. The people here really care.

Over fifteen years ago I walked through the doors of Sunrise House. It was not a country club and did not have the five star amenities that are touted and emphasized by many "treatment" facilities. I was NOT there for anything else but treatment for my addiction. I worked hard to "get the muck out" during my time there. The staff was respectful, compassionate and all (that I recall) were in recovery themselves. I have used the tools I was given at Sunrise House and last November I celebrated FIFTEEN years of recovery. If you want what I have and are ready/willing to work for it, Sunrise House is the best investment for your future!

Was there for 14 days and overall it was good. Pros - I am not drinking - The program is good based on the 12 steps - The community of people was varied and mostly friendly. There were some problem people but they left after a few days. Remember we are dealing with drug addicts and alcoholics - Food was good, better than I expected and more than enough to eat - Made some good friends and have not laughed that hard in years - Lots of good information, lectures and coursework to help you figure out what is contrubuting and dealing with addiction - Helps some clients stay out of jail - The staff did help me. Their intentions are to help you even though you may not agree with them Cons - The men's bathrooms are filthy and disgusting. I don't know how a medical facility can get away with the level of filth. I was afraid to shower so I would go in with my sneakers on. - Sleeping is difficult at first. If you can not get a single room on the third floor wait until one opens up. I was on the first floor near the girls lounge and it was like a college dorm with the guys swarming over the girl - No where to relax between breaks for men. This is unfair because the women who are fewer in number have 2 lounges. You will be paying around $1000 per day and this is disgraceful that you have to hang out in a hallway and not a single comfortable room to relax in. - The walkie talkies keep many people up at night - Can't get into your room during the day. This is because there are too many thieves who will steal anything. Not the facilities fault - They come into your room at all hours of the night to make sure you are there. This is for suicide prevention and make sure drugs are not being used or brought into the facility. - They do treat you like garbage at times. The BT's (Behavioral Therapists) are not trained professionals but are recovering drug addicts and alcoholics most with over 10 years sobriety. I expected a higher level of care. - Being yelled at is common. - If someone acts out Joe (BT) will take away you privileges or as they say. I don't believe using the pay phone is a privilege if I am paying $1000 a day.
